We have an extremely productive pharmaceutical pipeline, with 50 compounds in development. Our pipeline has been described as the “most improved” in the industry by the US magazine R&D Directions.

To ensure our pipeline is sustainable, our focus is threefold. We aim to:

• Improve productivity in the discovery process
• Deliver a constant stream of high-quality candidate medicines for clinical tests
• Enhance success rates of drugs in development

Late-stage pipeline
A significant proportion of our research and development expenditure goes on our late-stage pipeline products. We anticipate these medicines being available in the UK over the next few years.
