Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals UK has achieved Two Star Status in the “Best Companies” Accreditation Standard for 2008.
The accreditation is based on a star rating system where one star is first class, two star is outstanding and three star is extraordinary. The scheme recognises the company’s achievements in workplace engagement and is based on an independent survey of employees. This was a hard fought competition with 653 companies applying to achieve star status, a 34 percent increase from 2007. Bristol-Myers Squibb was one of 117 (out of 307 organisations who achieved “Star Status”) companies that were awarded two star status. Only 48 companies achieved three star status and 142 received one star status.
Bristol-Myers Squibb named one of the best employers in the UK.
For the second year running, Bristol-Myers Squibb is one of the Best Companies to Work For in Britain. Bristol-Myers Squibb has achieved 61st place in the prestigious Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For 2008, based on an independent survey of employees. Bristol-Myers Squibb also achieved 6th position in the corporate citizenship category, called ‘Making the World a Better Place.’ Pride in our company and a strong belief in our values and principles were factors that went towards another strong showing in an increasingly competitive field. The Best Companies scheme acknowledges organizations that provide excellent workplaces and workplace practices, as well as great leadership. Now in its eighth year, The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For has broken records in conducting the biggest and most comprehensive survey of employee opinion in the UK. The views of more than 180,000 employees in 868 companies have been fed into this year’s results.
