Mead Johnson Nutritionals
Mead Johnson Nutritionals is a world leader in infant and child nutrition and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2005. The company was founded in 1905 by Edward Mead Johnson Sr, a man whose passion was to create products that would help people lead healthier lives. He was also a father whose own son barely survived infancy due to severe feeding difficulties.
This personal experience inspired Mead Johnson to create Dextri–Maltose®, the first clinically supported infant feed. Introduced in 1911, Dextri–Maltose was first of many Mead Johnson innovations. During the 1920s, Mead Johnson forged ahead into an area of scientific investigation then known as reconstituted milks, the forerunners of modern infant formula.
Today, Mead Johnson is committed to providing the benefits of science-based nutrition to its consumers. Our products are fed to infants and children around the world. In the UK and Ireland the focus is on the special nutritional needs of infants with diet-related problems such as cow's milk allergy, eczema, colic and infant reflux.
